Who really killed Kennedy? Is Osama really dead? Were bombs planted in the World Trade Center? Many claim that dark cabals are secretively manipulating events in the world. How do we begin to judge such scenarios? What criteria can we use to sort reality from fantasy? It is so easy to be drawn toward a mesmerizing story that sounds so enticingly plausible that maybe… just maybe…it might be true. Certainly, not all “unconventional hypotheses” are foolish. We know that conspiracies happen, and sometimes they succeed, diverting the destinies of nations. The most common variety has a simple aim – to transfer lucre or power from hardworking people into the pockets of thieves.
