What if you know something that is just not right – Freemasons beware?
Question by pelusa67: What if you know something that is just not right – Freemasons beware?
I have a family member who claims to be a Freemason. The family was all in hoopla about how great this is and so it peeked my curiosity. It sounds like a tremendously great association to have and one that would be difficult to be a part of. I looked up some of the requirements to be part of this secret society and I find that for the most part future members are invited, sponsored and then depending on certain criteria they are voted in or accepted.
Two points are that one must be of good morals and have a good reputation and the other is that they must provide character references.
My question is that I feel that the Freemasons have been deceived by my family member. He is neither moral nor does he have a good reputation and I don’t know what he did to get character references (he also has an arrest record). I don’t know if I should alert someone or stay out of it. He wears a ring but I also know that he – if he could – would purchase one and wear it to appear as a Freemason.
Is there an anonymous way to alert the Freemasons?

Straight Answers please – Yahoo selected religious groups earlier and I don’t need to be lectured on how the Freemasons are a satanic/cult/”Good Ole Boys” or what ever name you give them group. So please just answer the question and don’t preach to me.
Please note – I don’t want to “rat” on a family member but have genuine concern for both the Freemasons and my family’s reputation. I have grown tiered of getting round about news of how this person is constantly making a mockery of my family and when our matriarch past away last summer – she used to counsel him on making wise decisions, well he is running a muck. All families have “positions” – the counselor – family members go to them for advise, the bank – family members go for $ help, the caregiver – family members go to when they are ill and the “cleaner” – that’s me… I get sent in to clean up messes. I am just trying being proactive on a potential mess.
Both Waldo and Poster Boy have given me great answers – I truly thank you.

The Masons are capable of taking care of their business and selecting their members. They are certainly not going to be persuaded of anything by an anonymous hatchet job on someone’s character. You should mind your own business.
