About 15 years ago, near a small neighboring town, warrants finally issued to go to this acreage. People left night before. Evidence of many sacrafices of people’s pets that had disappearred throughout several townships. The Animal Shelter manager found the Probable Cause for the Police to get the warrant, although too late for the animals and arrests.

I believe God exists; I believe Satan exists.
I believe in treating animals and people the same way I wish to be treated, even if they had done harm to me. Revenge would just put me in ‘their’ category; I want to stay in ‘mine’.

The three boys held in prison are known as the West Memphis Three…teens (at the time) who were accused of the murder of three eight year old boys based on no evidence beyond the fact that they listened to Heavy Metal music, read Stphen King novels, and wore black t-shirts.

As for the "Church of Satan", from what I’ve seen about them the whole thing seems to be an elaborate excuse for indulgence.

There was a huge scare in the mid-eighties over "Satanic Ritual Abuse" that was started by an over-zealous Christian psychologist who became convinced that one of her patients had suffered at the hands of her family…and that abuse "had" to be part of a satanic rite of some kind. Somehow the phenomenon caught fire and fear spread across the country. People hypnotized by well-meaning but heavily biased "researchers" started "remembering" absolutely monstrous treatment by various people in their lives. Accusations flew and people’s lives were ruined.

And there wasn’t a scrap of evidence to be found to support any of it.

A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader.

Now, any religion can fall prey to cults. The truth is that cults are usually based on a distorted version of the christian god because the only way you can convince a bunch of people to live under the control of another is if they first believe that they are under control by their own deity. Satanists in general believe that they are their own deity. Which means that they believe that they should put their own needs first (not in a selfish way) but as in being responsible for themselves and that if everyone did this, charity would not be needed. True Satanism is based on Humanism. The term Satanism was coined by Anton LaVey and it was simply his way of defying the christian church and to separate his ideas from those of christianity. He also hoped that the "shock value" of the term would wake people up to the "sheep mentality" (as he put it) that they were all used to.

There are some that claim to actually worship a deity that they refer to as "Satan" and by doing this they are bastardizing all that Anton LaVey taught. The Church of Satan was founded by Anton LaVey, so anyone who claims to worship any devil IS NOT a part of the Church of Satan and would be liable if they made such claims. So the person who answered by referencing the Church of Satan clearly has no idea what she is talking about and should read a bit more before answering questions.

Because The Church of Satan encourages free will and pretty much demands that you think for yourself, it is impossible for them to be a cult. Now anyone can take any religion and create a cult based on it. Does that mean that that religion is a cult? Of course not! The Branch Davidians were clearly a cult (founded and led by David Koresh in Waco Texas) and were former members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. That denomination is still active and had no affiliation with the Branch Davidians.

So cults can stem from any religion or path. But to label that path as a cult is irresponsible. Satanic cults can exist just as a christian cult could exist or a mormon cult could exist. All you need for a cult is for a charismatic leader to convince some followers to do their bidding. But in the sense that anyone who is a Satanist is in a cult? No, that is pure media hype.

Sure there are satanic cults and yes there are crazy ppl out there who probably kill babies and animals. But not all.

Anton V LaVey is a satanic pioneer.
He came up with these Earth Rules for satanist to follow.

9. Do not harm little children.

10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.

I’m not satanist because I think they go to extremes, just like christians but it’s good to learn from all.

OF COURSE there are people who believe in Satan or "The Devil", and they have built a belief system based on what they believe Satan is all about! They get together in groups, "worship", and follow certain guidelines just as any other organized group of fanatics do.

Humans have the will and the brain to do whatever they can dream up – good OR bad, and you better believe they DO. Not believing it is possible OR probable is downright ignorant.
