Well, let’s see…..When this was written there were no other Christians than Catholic Christians. In fact, there would not be any Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses for another 1800 years. The facts are that Jesus only founded one Church and prayed that we all be one within that same Church.

Now as for rebels who would this describe but the Protestants who rebelled against Christ’s Church. They were prophesied as those who would no longer be able to endure the sound doctrine within His Church and gather around them false teachers who satisfied their itching ears. Names like Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, Joseph Smith,Charles Taze Russell, Ellen G. White, Jim Jones, Jim Baker, David Koresh and etc. come to mind. Of course, there are 30,000+ more names of founders of counterfeit churches doing the work of Satan with their exponentially increasing schisms. The founder of the Catholic Church is Jesus and since He spoke the words that are written and the words that you quote He was speaking of the Catholic Church.
