Infowars.com – Its Getting Ugly Economist Says Hoard Gold & Scotch
Respected economist John Williams, editor of ShadowStats.com, a popular website that tracks real inflation figures, is advising that people hoard physical gold as well as food items in bulk so that they have some means with which to barter as the economic crisis turns ugly. Three or four years into the future I think we could be in a hyperinflation, within the current year youre going to see much higher inflation than most people are looking at, Williams told MarketWatch. Williams said that his definition of hyperinflation would be a situation in which a 0 dollar bill would become more functional as a piece of toilet paper than a store of value. This is a time when you want to preserve your wealth and assets because inflation will knock the value out of it, he added, advising that people buy physical gold and assets other than the US dollar. Then when the hyperinflation hits youll see disruption of normal commerce, you wont have enough 0 dollar bills to buy what you want, said Williams, adding that items to barter with, such as a bottle of scotch, would be more valuable than actual cash, even in large quantities. Williams said that such items should be procured now in bulk so people had some means with which to barter and get them through rough times. Scientific Proof That 2012 Is Not Just Another Year
Do you know who Jesse Ventura is? He is the outspoken ex-governor of Minnesota. You either really like or detest him. Not long ago, he did an investigative TV show on the 2012 end of the world prophecy and an alleged conspiracy by our government to cover up the reality of the probable perils associated with that date.
Conspiracies and prophecies aside, Governor Ventura uncovered some fascinating scientific publications that have not garnered a lot press.
According to the National Academy of Sciences in a document commissioned by Nasa and published in 2009, our Sun’s solar flare activity is expected to peak in 2012. Disturbingly, the article compares this forecasted activity with the solar outbreak of 1859 that fried telegraph wires through the modern world.
Do you believe that solar flare activity would lead to a important if not catastrophic disruption of our life-style like the movie, 2012? Sit back. The National Academy of Sciences estimates that, “A modern repetition of the 1859 event would lead to considerably much more substantial (and maybe catastrophic) social and economic disruptions.”
What does that mean? In a Nasa review summarizing the Academy of Sciences report, Nasa estimates that the injury would attain 1 to 2 Trillion dollars in damages.
Let’s compare that to Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina cost us an estimated 80 to 125 Billion dollars. 1 to 2 Trillion is one thousand to 2000 times greater! I think you would agree that is a vital difference!
It is not the dollars. It is the collateral damage, the social harm. Drinking water, sewage, refrigeration, gas, all these and more would be damaged if not eliminated. Due to the technological infrastructure, reconstructing our electrical grid could take years. Are you prepared? Not many of us are.
Alarmingly, Nasa’s Themis satellites now show that the magnetic shield that protects us from the Sun’s fatal emissions has holes in it. With a solar emission of massive proportions, we can only guess at the consequences.
Whatever you may think about the Mayan 2012 end of the planet prophesy, science has some extremely disturbing predictions for 2012. I believe in science. It provides humanity some sense of fact. We all perceive science cannot clarify a lot of items. Most items are still left to faith. However, when science and the metaphysical meet, perhaps it is time to pay attention.
The Mayans predicted the end of the earth, as we comprehend it, in 2012. Scientists know that our Sun is in a valley of solar flares, it peaks in cycles. The National Academy of Sciences and Nasa predict the end of the valley and a peak of a new cycle for 2012. Coincidence? I don’t know.
Are you prepared to consider the likelihood that the New Agers and the doomsday soothsayers are wrong?
